    In my experience most of the local Amazon Jungle Lodges are extremely expensive and very empty. What's more, they are little more than a hut in the jungle and most are in a decrepit condition with the wood rotting. Explorama is suppose to be better, but are merely "cement block huts" in the jungle. Has anyone had a more positive experience in these Amazon Lodges?

    Are you living in Iquitos? If you are, stop by and visit Amazonian Trips on Pevas, Walter Pena is the manager. Amazonian Trips represents Chullachaqui Lodge which is located 97 kilometers up the Amazon from Iquitos. The recently have built a new hammock room, Dining Room and house containing six new sleeping rooms with shared bath facilities with running water. There are also six existing rooms, that are large and pleasant that have private baths. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the guides are great and want to give you a great experience in the jungle. They will also work with you to give you the program you want.
